Inside was a velvet cloth bag.
“Wow!” gasped Lucy. “What’s in it Tom?
What’s in it?”
Tom carefully lifted the bag out and put it
down on Gran’s bed. Considering it had
been hidden in the secret space behind the
tulip picture for seventy years it wasn’t at all
dusty.
“It must be the treasure!” he said. But he
was too scared to open the bag.
“Wait!” said Lucy. “This is a big moment.
The others should see this!”
It was Gran’s idea to carry the mystery
bag to the sitting room and fetch Mr and
Mrs Young and all the residents. Ten
