So while Mr Brown got in a flap on the

phone again and Mrs Brown looked up ‘how

to look after an elephant’ on the internet the

Gang turned The Den into an elephant

house.

As if accidentally borrowing an elephant

wasn’t a big enough problem, Mrs Brown

suddenly remembered that Miss Prune was

coming round for tea and cakes at eleven

o’clock.

Mrs Brown had planned to bake some of

her best cakes. Eating one of Mrs Brown’s

best cakes always put people in a good

mood. They needed to get Miss Prune in a

good mood so that she wouldn’t decide to

give Mr Brown’s job to someone else.
