            then, just in case that hadn’t sounded very


            polite. “It looks interesting. I guess it’s pea

            soup or something really healthy?”


               Mrs Brown laughed. “Oh, this? No, no!

            This is the green dye. I’m tie-dying a t-shirt.


            The tea is cooking in the oven!”

               Mr Brown was back at the kitchen door.


            He was looking very pale. Poppy guessed

            the phone call had been bad news.


               “That was Miss Prune,” Mr Brown

            groaned.

               Miss Prune was the boss at the radio


            station. Miss Prune had not been very

            happy. There had been eleven more


            complaints about Mr Brown falling asleep
