            wasn’t looking good. Miss Prune wanted Mr

            Brown to go in to work early – right away –


            to discuss the problem with her.

               “It’s not fair,” said Poppy. “There must be


            something that will make you sleep. Then

            you won’t fall asleep when you’re supposed


            to be working.”

               Everyone felt glum. But Mr Brown was in


            a hurry. Mrs Brown rushed off to find the

            car keys for him. Mr Brown got himself a

            flask out of the cupboard and peered at the


            green liquid in the saucepan.
