asked.

“Oh, very funny!”

Gary didn’t think his aunt and

uncle would approve of naked flames

in bedrooms, but he said nothing -

she could get herself into trouble for a

change. Suddenly Lauren was staring

at him - biscuit poised and mouth

open.

“You look different. What have

you been up to?” she quizzed.

Gary’s heart missed a beat.

“I don’t look different,” he stated.

“Oh yes you do! Kind of guilty

looking. I bet you’ve been up to

something. You were back late

weren’t you. Josie said you were late.
