did. Yes. But…and you’re saying
Lauren was…in the way and…”
“YES!” yelled Lauren getting a
tissue out of her pocket and dabbing
her cheek.
“Yep!” Josh confirmed. “That just
about sums it up?”
Gary was horrified. He’d never
want to hurt Lauren. He wasn’t sure
that he’d even want to hurt Al…or
anyone. No. Not really. That hadn’t
really been what it was about.
“I’m so sorry, Lauren,” Gary put
his hands up to his head and sunk to
the ground. “This is awful!”
Lauren was silent. The mark on
her cheek was just a scratch where
