Gary’s nail had caught her, but it was
bleeding.
Josh sat down on the ground
next to his friend. Then Lauren sat
down too. For a few seconds no one
spoke. Then suddenly all three of
them were talking at once.
Lauren:
“I don’t understand! I thought you
and those boys were friends. What
did they do? What was that about a
stolen car and what was all that about
your jacket? Why did they want it? I
don’t get it?”
Josh:
“Don’t even think about hanging
out with those two, Lauren. They’re
trouble. They’re stupid with it, but they
