Chapter Eighteen

“Jay! Wake up! Jay! Jay!”

A familiar voice was talking. He lifted one

hand to rub his forehead and then slowly

opened his eyes. Everything seemed a bit

blurred at first, but a face was looking down at

him. It was Abby’s face. For a moment the two

of them stared at each other in silence. Abby

had an odd expression which Jay couldn’t

quite make out. It was a mixture of relief and

disbelief. Jay moved to sit up and the two of

them sat for a few seconds on Jay’s bedroom

floor in silence, thinking, looking from the

computer to each other. Jay was just thinking

that he must have had some sort of bizarre

dream when Abby said the unthinkable:

“That really happened, Jay!”
