Jay concentrated on feeling across the

ground for the weapon.

“Yes!” he grabbed it and staggered to his

feet.

“Just go! Just go!” Abby was shouting, but

Jay ignored her. He had to time this right. The

Groundling was lurching towards him.

Knowing what was coming, Jay was ready for

the punch. As the creature’s arm came

towards him he dodged to one side. Holding

the blitzer tight, he aimed high and stared into

the eyes of the creature.

“To get rid of your monsters you have to

face them first…” Lewis’ words echoed

through his mind,

There was a split second when his gaze met

the monster’s eyes. This was it. His one and

only chance. He pressed the trigger.
