“Yeah! I thought that would work,” said
Jake.
“Go for it, Clara,” I said. “You can keep
the pen if you want.”
Jake had given me the pens for my last
birthday, nearly a year ago. We’d pulled
them apart and put some different ink in.
They all looked like the colours they were
supposed to be. But when they dried they
turned out to be different colours. They
were great for playing tricks.
Mum came out into the hall with a box of
plasters.
“Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea,
Harry,” Jake was saying.
