“He spends hours playing computer games. Don’t you
Ben? He’s missing it.”
“Don’t tell me you spend all your time on the
computer, Ben?” said Uncle Jim.
Ben shrugged his shoulders.
“We had to tear him away from it to get him here,”
said Dad. “I wish he would do something else sometimes,
like play football or go to the adventure playground.”
That wasn’t fair, Ben thought to himself. He did do
other things – sometimes. It was just that he liked playing
computer games best of all.
Ben had been in the middle of a monster game when
Mum and Dad had told him to get ready to go to Uncle Jim
and Auntie Sue’s house. He hadn’t wanted to go. But his
parents had wanted to see their new house. What a bore.
He’d rather have stayed at home on his own. Ben liked
being on his own. Being with people meant he had to talk
and Ben could never think of anything to talk about –
unless it was about computer monster games.
