“Want to come outside for a game of football now,
Ben?” said Dad. “There’s a huge garden here!”
Ben’s dad was always trying to get him to play
football. But Ben didn’t like football much.
“No thanks!” said Ben.
Uncle Jim was making a tut-tutting sound.
“Spend too much time on those computer games and
one day you’ll find you’re hooked and can’t get away from
them. Then you’ll spend the rest of your life splodging
monsters! Be warned!” he said.
What was he talking about, Ben thought to himself?
How stupid! Computers were just fun.
Suddenly Ben had an idea.
“Can I get another drink?” he asked.
“Of course you can,” said Aunt Sue. “Just go out to
the kitchen and help yourself.”
“And no stopping off to look at my new computer on
the way!” Uncle Jim laughed.
