“Exactly,” said Josh, stuffing the
jacket half underneath the blanket the
boys were kneeling on. “Don’t worry
about it! No one on the estate is
talking about Al nicking that car. And
the police didn’t see any of us. I know
it was wrong, but I think we got away
with it.”
“You mean you hope we got
away with it?” Gary said. “What you
really mean is I was an idiot to get in
that car with them, it wasn’t your fault
you ended up in it as well – but at
least we got away with it?”
Josh sighed.
“Okay, yeah. That as well…but
it’s okay. Right?”
