“Everyone else is going to The Water
Park,” Billie complained. She meant
everyone else in the Chicken Street Gang.
The Chicken Street Gang was Billie, Lucy,
Tom, Luke and Poppy. They all lived in
Chicken Street and went to Chicken Street
School. But today there was no school. No
one was quite sure why.
A boy in Year Six had said it was
because the teachers were going on a
special course about how to give children
extra really horrible homework. Billie so
hoped it wasn’t true because she had
