Maybe Gran was in the tv room. But the

tv seemed to be talking to itself and flicking

from one channel to the next all on its own.

Tom remembered that the tv in the home

had been broken for ages. No one wanted

to watch it like that, of course.

“Let’s try the dining room,” said Tom.

Before they even got to the door, Tom

could tell that this was where they would

find Gran. Tom knew that if he couldn’t see

Gran he would probably be able to hear

her. This was because Gran never did

anything quietly. Gran liked to make a noise

about everything. She liked having the tv

loud. She liked playing loud music. She

always laughed loudly and made everyone
