A worry bench


               Have a worry bench in your mind where you can tell worries that

               keep bothering you to go and sit and leave you alone for a while.
               Once a worry starts up again imagine yourself telling it to go and sit

               on the worry bench. You can imagine sending your worry helper to

               sit with it if you want too.




               Then later when you want to you could either listen to the worry

               again and talk back to it or talk to someone else about the worry.




               This all helps you feel in charge of the worry instead of letting it
               bother and pester and bully you.





               Don’t ignore worries or pretend they’re not there. Just be in charge
               of them:




               Worry: Listen! It’s going to be really awful! What are you going to

               do?


               You:  Go and sit over there with my worry helper. I’ll have time for

               you later.
