A few minutes later the Chicken Street
Gang were in the kitchen of Poppy’s
bungalow. Mrs Brown, Poppy’s mum, was
stirring an odd smelling green liquid in a
saucepan.
“Hello Mrs Brown!” Luke whispered.
“Mum,” Poppy whispered. “We’ve had a
great idea about something to do now that
it’s the school holidays. Well it was Tom’s
idea…”
“No need to whisper now,” Mrs Brown
said. “Your dad has given up trying to sleep
today. Apparently someone started
shouting out in the street. Right by my BE
