“I saw the sign!” whispered Lucy. “I didn’t
make any noise.”
“It’s okay,” said Poppy. “We don’t need to
whisper in here. It’s going to be a boring
school holiday though if we have to spend
the whole of it being quiet. The Den is
supposed to be fun.”
Poppy was right. The idea had been to
make The Den a fun place for everyone for
the school holidays. And most fun things
aren’t quiet are they?
Tom had been thinking. Tom was brilliant
at thinking. Everyone said that Tom’s brain
worked in a good way for thinking. He was
good at working things out and he always
