and stared at Jay. And Jay - Jay stopped
gasping and grinned the biggest grin
imaginable. He was right!
“Ella?” he said.
The tall girl looked curiously at Jay.
“Yes! Do I know you?”
Jay started laughing again. He did a funny
little leap into the air.
“I’m in the game! I’m in the game! You’re the
Pioneers! Of course I know you. I know all of
you. You belong in a game. All of this does.”
He waved his arms around at their
surroundings. The group were still staring at
him.
The child, a girl, whom Jay remembered was
called Flick, pulled at her mother’s arm.
“Who’s he, Mum?” she said.
