throwing a bowl of jelly over another chef. The other was a leaflet
which had YUMMY PUDDING COMPETITION in big letters on the
front. Alfie thought that sounded good. He looked inside. It had been
sent by the restaurant inspectors.
“Is your restaurant due to have a visit from the restaurant
inspectors?” the writing said. “Then why not take part in our
YUMMY PUDDING AWARD. Present your home-made original
yummy pudding to the inspectors during their visit and you could
win one of our special award plaques to go on your restaurant wall.”
There was a photograph of one of the plaques.

Alfie thought one of those would look good on the wall of The
Cuckoo Lane Restaurant.
He showed Mum the leaflet.
“Dad’s brilliant at making puddings,” he said. “He could easily
win!”
Mum laughed.
Alfie was right. Dad had invented all sorts of super puddings.
