“Here!” he wheezes. He holds out the

packet to the fourteen year old gang

leader.

The fourteen year old boy doesn’t

take it. He’s too busy staring at Al and

trying to look tough at the same time.

Somehow it works. Al holds his

breath.

“What?” he lets out. “I mean, I did

what you asked? Nick something from

the shop and I’m in the gang? Right?

Ok. Here. Here it is. Nearly got caught

too!”

Suddenly the gang leader laughs. The

five other members of his gang laugh

with him. It’s expected. Then just as

suddenly he stops laughing.

“Shut up!” he yells at the others.
