It was important not to panic. What she was

            suggesting was sensible.

               “I’ll go,” Jay spoke up.

               The rest of the Pioneers looked at him in

            astonishment.

               Well, he did feel a bit guilty about Flick

            going missing this time. He had disturbed

            everyone in the night. Maybe the Groundlings

            had heard. Maybe it was his fault. Binny was

            stepping forwards.

               “I’ll go,” he said. “Jay and I will go.”

               “That’s settled then,” Ella said. “Let’s get on

            with it.”
