Chapter Eleven

                The three of them crept slowly back to the

            spring. It was cooler walking amongst the

            thick branched trees, but the sun was baking

            down on to the forest now. The tree tops

            above them were alive with the noisy excited

            sounds of birds and chimps. Jay wished he

            could swing through the trees like the chimps.

            At least up there they would be safe from the

            Groundlings.

               Soon they were back at the clearing where

            they had seen the pile of rocks. Binny found a

            good place for them to hide amongst the thick

            bushes and they waited and listened for any

            sounds of Groundlings for a full two minutes.

               “I can’t see anything and I can’t hear

            anything,” whispered Ella. “They’ve gone. It’s

            okay.”
