“He must have gone outside,” said Mum.

Ben wanted to call out that he was inside the

computer. But he didn’t. It would sound daft. They

wouldn’t believe him. Anyway, if he called out the

monsters would hear him.

“I’ve got to find the Escape Pad!” Ben said to himself.

Another creature was moving in the trees. Ben jumped

up and ran. His heart was racing. He dived into the trees.

Which was the way out? He couldn’t remember. The game

looked different when you were in it. He didn’t know which

way to go.

Ben decided to keep running in one direction. He was

sure to come to the edge of the jungle like that. He had to.

If he didn’t it would be just like Uncle Jim had said. He

would spend the rest of his life splodging monsters.

SPLODGE! Another monster nearly got him. The

yellow stuff from its weapon splattered on to the bush next

to him.

SPLODGE! Ben nearly got him back.
