Haunted Mouse!
“I HEARD it again last night,” said Jack at breakfast
time. “I kept waking up and hearing a scratching sound.”
Kim made a spooky face at her younger brother. They
were sitting on the sofa watching tv and eating toast.
“Maybe it’s the mouse ghost!” she said. She loved
teasing him. He was so gullible. It was unbelievable!
“Shut up!” said Jack.
Mum looked crossly at Kim and Jack.
“Don’t start, you two.” she said. “There is no such
thing as mice ghosts. Anyway, we won’t have to put up
with the scratching noises for much longer. I rang Uncle
Mike yesterday. He is coming round to check round the
house for us.”
