“Did you notice the initials on Uncle Mike’s van?” she
said.
“No,” said Jack. “What do you mean?”
“Mike Mills,” said Kim. “That means his initials are
MM.”
“So?”
“That stands for mouse murderer of course!” said
Kim.
Jack put his hands over his ears again.
“But he isn’t going to kill any mice,” he said.
“But what if he doesn’t come back for several days
and the little mice starve in the box before he can let them
go free? Then he’d be a mouse murderer. Then they’ll be
even more mice ghosts in the attic and in your bedroom
cupboard!”
Jack ran downstairs and went out into the back
garden. He didn’t want to hear any more about mice
ghosts.
