be almost funny. “So that’s it then,” he
thought to himself. “The only way out is
onwards. I could be stuck in here for days.”
Worries and thoughts had buzzed round and
round in his head for ages, but eventually he
had fallen asleep. It wasn’t the early morning
sun flickering through the trees and shining
down on his face that woke him. It wasn’t the
squawk and chatter of a hundred birds in the
tree tops. Jay was woken by a long fearful
sounding scream. Then he was aware of
people scuffing and running about shouting
and searching.
NOW what?
Jay sat up still wrapped in the blanket. Ella
ran over to him.
“Did you see anything?” she asked
anxiously.
