up, of course.

Ella and Rosie wrapped him back in his

blanket and tried to calm him down. Binny

explained that The Guide allowed no one to go

back. If they did the Groundlings would find

them wandering and capture them. Didn’t Jay

know that? Jay remembered something like

that being in the rules, but he had hoped it

wasn’t true. He’d hoped that it was just

something he could ignore.

Jay sat wrapped in the blanket. He put his

arms all around himself and rocked

backwards and forwards. He understood now.

Binny was okay really. He was just doing his

job of keeping a look out for possible threats.

He had thought Jay was a spy for the

Groundlings. If all this wasn’t so real it would
