Of all the Pioneers it had to be Binny.
Strange, suspicious Binny. Jay had been sure
he had been asleep when he had crept away
from the camp. Binny must have been awake
all along. He had probably been watching him.
He must have followed Jay through the trees
and back out on to the path again. How was he
going to get away now?
Jay kicked hard at Binny’s shin and to his
surprise the young man let go of him.
“What do you think you’re doing, following
me?” Jay demanded. “You’ve got no business
following people. Just go back. Go back to the
others and leave me alone.”
Binny put one hand firmly on Jay’s
shoulder.
“I’m not leaving you anywhere on your
own,” he said sharply.
