Of all the Pioneers it had to be Binny.

            Strange, suspicious Binny. Jay had been sure

            he had been asleep when he had crept away

            from the camp. Binny must have been awake

            all along. He had probably been watching him.

            He must have followed Jay through the trees

            and back out on to the path again. How was he

            going to get away now?

               Jay kicked hard at Binny’s shin and to his

            surprise the young man let go of him.

               “What do you think you’re doing, following

            me?” Jay demanded. “You’ve got no business

            following people. Just go back. Go back to the

            others and leave me alone.”

               Binny put one hand firmly on Jay’s

            shoulder.

               “I’m not leaving you anywhere on your

            own,” he said sharply.
