“How far do you think you’ve come in the

            last twenty minutes? Let me think. You were

            going at quite a pace at one point. A

            kilometre?  Two?”

               “I don’t know,” Jay sniffed again. “Probably.

            So I’ll take a while to get there. So what?”

               Binny shook his head.

               “You’ve gone nowhere,” he insisted. “Jay,

            just look!”

               Jay rubbed his sore eyes. He looked

            through the darkness. He expected to see

            nothing but the pale dusty path and forest. But

            instead... Jay gasped.

               “That can’t be right!” he yelled staring in

            horror. He had been running for ages hadn’t

            he? He must have got further than this. What

            kind of weird trick was this? A hundred or so
