Chapter Ten

No matter how carefully he trod the twigs

            snapped under his feet.

               CRACK!

               “Ughhh!” Jay muttered.

He was still only a few metres from the path

and the sleeping Pioneers so his moonlight

escape had to be as silent as possible. Jay

had left the rucksack on top of the blanket.

After all, he wouldn’t need it back in the real

world and it belonged to the Pioneers. He

            didn’t want to steal anything.

The further away from the Pioneers he got,

the faster he went until he was almost running

and jumping over the forest floor. He knew

what he was doing. Soon he would be far

enough away from the others to get back on

                                                                       103
