Reluctantly the Pioneers went back to their
leader.
“It’s obvious which way we should go!” Zak
shouted. “The shortest way! We’re nearly
there!”
Ella took a deep breath.
“No,” she said. “The Guide is warning us
about the short-cut. I think it’s saying we may
never get there if we go that way.”
The Pioneers thought about this. But Zak
was impatient.
“I’m sick and tired of this follow-the-guide
rubbish,” he shouted. “Just about all of us
have gone off the path at some point. And
what happened to us? Nothing! We’re all still
here. Okay, you may have had a bit of trouble
getting Flick back. But you got her back.
