“We’re never going to get out of here!” he
shouted over the loudness of the storm.
“There’s just no way out at all! Abby? Abby?”
Jay looked around frantically for his friend.
Where was Abby? How could she have
suddenly disappeared?
Suddenly he was aware of a large dark
shadow to the left and a muffled yell.
“No! No! Not Groundlings! It can’t be! Abby!
Abby!”
Jay’s heart was almost in his mouth. His
knees wanted to give way. Terrified, he
reached for the blitzer still attached to his belt.
His hands shook as he stumbled through the
blinding storm up to the massive Groundling
who had hold of his friend.
