“It means you think differently,” said Abby.

“I think that’s what it means. That’s what my

mum says anyway. She says it’s autism-sort-

of and it means you find some things about

being with other people difficult. But other

things you’re better at than people who don’t

have it.”

“Hmmm, yes” said Jay. It was true, he did

find some things about being with other

people difficult – like why they used odd

expressions and winked at each other.

“What d’you want to do now?” Abby was

saying.

“About what?” said Jay.

“I mean, what do you want to do now? Got

any computer games?” Abby asked

impatiently.
