usual headings flashed up. Which game did he
want to play? Jay’s game? New game? Jay
hovered the mouse over ‘new game’. He didn’t
know why he was bothering really. But his
head was still hurting and he needed to do
something to make him forget about his bad
day. He stabbed at the left mouse button with
his right index finger. He must have knocked
the mouse at the same time because he
missed and highlighted a red triangle next to
“New game”. He’d noticed the red triangle
before. It often appeared on the opening
screen, but never in the same place. He didn’t
know what it was for and the instruction
booklet that had come with the game didn’t
give any clues.
Jay nudged the mouse back into the middle
of the mouse mat ready to try again. This time
