I waved at the empty road. The pavement

            was narrow and to keep up with them I


            practically had to run in the road.

               “He’s going completely mental, Mum!”


            Clara said. “There aren’t any lorries.”

               “But you never know when one might


            come along,” I insisted. “You might fall off

            the pavement and break your ankle or


            something and then you wouldn’t be able to

            ...”


               “Shut up, Harry !”

               “Why don’t you stop trying to put your

            sister off and come and watch the


            audition?” Mum suggested.
