of that gang”. Even Aunt Josie had

said it. Well, Specks was in the gang

wasn’t he. Al must be in it too?

Gary was having to stay with his

Aunt Josie and Uncle Tom because

his dad was in hospital again.

Gary didn’t come from a regular family

– at least that’s how he saw it. No

mum. Gary didn’t remember his mum.

She had left his dad a long time ago.

So it was just Dad and him. And
