wasn’t really time for the worst day of his life
to begin.
“Jay! Come on! Time to get up! Why are you
still in bed?”
It was Dad’s voice. He had crashed through
the bedroom door and was tugging at the
duvet
“You’ll enjoy it once you get there, Jay,” he
encouraged. “And Abby will be there. Come
on! Up!”
“Ohhhhhhh!” Jay groaned, but Dad was
having none of it. He yanked back the duvet
and ruffled his son’s hair.
“I’d rather stay here!” Jay moaned.
Dad didn’t seem to be listening. He was
trying to get to the curtains. Not a wise thing
to do in the semi-dark in Jay’s room. He nearly
