better luck now that he couldn’t interfere with
what they were doing.
“Only one really bad thing has happened,”
Flick was saying. She was looking sad.
Jay knew what she was going to say, but he
had to pretend he didn’t.
“What happened?” he asked.
“Lewis tried to go after the chimp who stole
some of our water supply,” she sighed. “He
got lost in the trees. We haven’t seen him
since.”
“We’ve been searching,” said Rosie. “But
we had to get back to the path. It just wasn’t
safe.”
Zak was walking in front of them now. He
turned back when he heard Lewis’s name.
