Becky wished the boy would stand up for himself and



               demand the blades back. But he did nothing. Absolutely


               nothing.  He just sat there reading his book.



                       “Hey!  What’s...?”



                       Helen suddenly lurched forward.


                       “Take them off, Helen!” Becky shouted. “For



               goodness sake give them back!”


                       She’d had enough of Helen. Who wanted a bully for a



               friend?


                       “I can’t!” Helen screeched. “They’ve gone weird!”



                       She zoomed out into the road. Two buses blasted



               their horns at her.


                       “Helen!”



                       “I can’t help it! It’s these blades! They’re doing this!



               They won’t stop! They’ve got a spell on them or


               something.”



                       She was spinning on the spot - so fast that Becky felt


               sick watching. Then suddenly it looked as though



               something was tugging her backwards. Screaming, arms
