He still couldn’t move. He felt
numb all over.
But Josh was having none of it. He
reached across and released his
friend’s seat belt. He pulled Gary’s
feet over the side and then grabbed
his arms.
“Move!” he ordered.
Gary found himself standing up
and staggering along with Josh.
Why was there a police siren?
Had someone seen four kids with a
car and called the police?
The numbness was going from
Gary’s limbs. Josh was urging him on.
His arm was through Gary’s arm,
pulling him on along the bank.
“Gary, run! Run! Come on!”
