from a devil into a boy again, Gary
noted.
Suddenly the sound of a police
siren and the sight of blue flashing
lights interrupted them. Without a
backward glance at Gary or Josh, Al
leapt from the car and he and Specks
sprinted fast along the river bank and
were gone in seconds
The next second Josh was
pulling Gary out of the passenger
door on to the grass.
“Get out of the car!” he was
yelling. “They’ll catch us! They’ll think
we stole the car.”
“We did!” Gary said weakly.
