Chapter Twelve
The cry didn’t come from Jay or Ella or
Binny, but from whoever it was who stood in
the darkness below them. Alarmed and
confused, the three of them jumped to their
feet. For a second the figure in front of them
turned as though it was going to run. Then it
stopped and stared. Binny and Ella were
staring back through the darkness. Jay didn’t
know what to do. His heart was thumping
madly. They should run or something
shouldn’t they?
“It can’t be!” Ella whispered.
“What? What can’t be? What are you talking
about? What are we doing?” Jay gasped.
“It is!” Binny said excitedly.
Jay was totally confused.
