Suddenly Ella and Binny were jumping off

the ledge and flinging their arms around the

stranger. Had they gone mad?

“I can’t believe it’s you!” Binny was saying.

“How did you get away?”

“This is amazing,” Ella laughed. “Oh, it’s so

good to see you, Lewis!”

Jay’s jaw dropped open. Was this really the

long lost Lewis who had been captured by the

Groundlings after straying off the path? That

had been right at the start of the Pioneers’

journey and what’s more, it had been his,

Jay’s, fault. In the game he had made Lewis go

after the chimp who had stolen the water

supply. It had been his fault Lewis had been

captured. He gulped.

“And who’s this?” Lewis asked. He looked

only six or seven years older than Jay. He was
