Chapter Thirteen
They ran until they were almost back to the
place where they had first climbed down into
the tunnels. Thank goodness Lewis’s plan had
worked. The rest of the Pioneers were going to
be so relieved to see Flick. They would be
amazed to see Lewis!
“Let’s start climbing back up,” Ella said.
“Keep close together.”
She stepped forward and placed her right
foot on the first foothold reaching up to hold
on to a higher step at the same time. Then she
stopped.
“What is it?” asked Binny.
Ella put her foot back down on the ground
again and stared at the rocks to one side of
them.
