“There could be more Groundlings arriving

any minute,” Ella said. “We’ve got to get on

with this. Lewis, what’s your plan?”

“Listen carefully,” Lewis replied. “It goes

like this.”

Five minutes later Jay and Lewis began

stage one of the plan. Lewis had wrapped

capturing cords around Jay’s body and legs

so that he looked like a captured Pioneer.

Lewis was going to carry him towards the

prisoner holding station. It was a clever plan.

The Groundlings, thinking Lewis was still on

their side, would open the cage for Lewis to

toss Jay inside.

Lewis was a strong lad and carried Jay over

one shoulder. He approached the Groundlings

with a triumphant look on his face. Jay made
